FACILITY-TO-VEHICLE

VIDEO LINK INSTALLATION

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS

DATED FEBRUARY 19, 1997

The following are special instructions for the installation on the video link.

The two video transmitters and matching antennas (two per transmitter) are already assembled. Each of the two units are mounted on the wall of the facility at the corner and under the tower as shown on the project drawings. Mount each unit so the antennas are two feet or more from the underside of the tower.

There are two cables that must be routed to each transmitter.

  • The power to be supplied is 12 VDC. The power should connect to the red and black wires inside the transmitter enclosure. The power should be about one amp and can be supplied from the same power supply that is powering the fiberoptic receiver if there is sufficient current.
  • The video signal from the fiberoptic receiver must be routed to the BNC connection of the video transmitter.

The video signal level from the fiberoptic receiver must be adjusted to match the video transmitter. If there is a problem with this adjustment, contact the factory at CDT.

The vehicle-mounted video receiver has been installed inside the video monitor enclosure. The receiver/monitor will function by connecting the unit to the vehicle's cigarette lighter plug and placing the antenna on the vehicle's roof.

The vehicle-mounted receiver/monitor has been fitted with a flat mounting plate because the use in the vehicle was discussed as portable, being able to move from vehicle to vehicle. If another or an additional mount is required, please contact CDT.
