MOBILE MAP PLUS (MMP)

MOBILE DISPLAY SIMPLIFIED TEST KIT

CDT has had several requests for a simple, inexpensive test kit that will help troubleshoot and evaluate problems that may occur with an installed Mobile Map Plus system. A complete test kit has been offered for several years which includes a power meter and radio scanner, but this kit is expensive.

The simplified test kit contains the following equipment:

  • Modular power supply and mating connector.
  • Test earphone
  • Flexible antenna and 90-degree adaptor
  • Troubleshooting instructions

Each Mobile Map Plus mobile radio-graphic display has a test jack located on the rear of the unit. The test jack allows you to listen for the data signal. The combination of the power supply, antenna, and earphone allows you to remove one mobile display for a vehicle (or spare) and use it as a test set.

  • Remove the mobile display and connect the power supply.
  • Connect the antenna and test earphone.
  • Using the mounting bracket as a handle, take the mobile display to the transmitter location.
  • Using the mobile display as a test set, check the operation of the transmitter.
  • Take the mobile display to the encoder location. Using the display as a test set, check the operation of the encoder and transmitter system.

This is a brief description of how to use the simplified test set. More detailed troubleshooting instructions are provided with the simplified test set.

If you wish to order a simplified test set, please contact the CDT factory.
