MOBILE MAP PLUS WITH TRUNKED RADIO INTERFACE (MMP/TRI)

TECHNICAL DESCRIPTION

    INTRODUCTION

The EMPACT Series Mobile Map Plus System which allows the MX-1000/FPS Fence Protection System wireless communication of alarms to roving vehicles and remote fixed locations has been available for many years. The Mobile Map Plus System with Trunked Radio Interface (MMP/TRI) has been specially developed to provide the same wireless communications using the trunked radio system already installed at a facility rather than requiring a separate radio frequency allocation. The MMP/TRI System interfaces to the facility-wide trunked radio and requires certain components from the trunked radio system manufacturer.

FEATURES

The MMP/TRI System provides the same operator features and functions as described on the standard Mobile Map Plus Mobile Radio-Graphic Display System. Please refer to the standard system brochure. However, the radio specifications are removed because the trunked radio transmission system is being utilized. The typical installation and wiring is as shown in Figure 1-1 attached.

OPERATION

MMP/TRI system operation is the same as described in the standard MMP System brochure and manuals. Operator interface, electrical interface to the fence protection system, and MX-1000 control operation is the same as for standard systems.

INSTALLATION

MMP/TRI system installation differs from the standard MMP system in that certain components of the trunked radio system manufacturer are required.  The MMP/TRI electrical interface and firmware have been changed to be compatible with the manufacturers of trunked radio systems. Please refer to the MMP/TRI System installation manual for more detailed installation information. Provided on the following page is a list of typical components for a complete MMP/TRI system installation including 24 zones of perimeter fence protection and 3 mobile radio-graphic displays.  Because the current MMP/TRI systems have been installed in conjunction with the Motorola trunked radio system, also listed (for information only) is the typical Motorola trunked radio equipment requirements. Do not utilize this equipment list for installation planning. Contact CDT and Motorola (or the manufacturer of the trunked radio system used) for the exact material requirements for each installation site.
